Welcome! Please make yourself at home.
SHOES: We do try to take our shoes off inside the house. We’re not neat freaks, but being in the woods, it does seem to help keep the outside….outside.
HEAT: Each room has a thermostat on the wall for the baseboard heaters. feel free to adjust as you see fit. Please leave at about 45 degrees when you leave.
GAS FIREPLACE: There is a white thermostat to the right, on the wall. Just switch it to ON, and set your desired temperature. Please switch to OFF when you leave.

WATER: We are on well water, it’s been tested, double filtered and just fine to drink.
WOOD BURNING STOVE: YES, It’s original from 1977…and YES, it’s still awesome. Please confirm that the flue is open (horizontal) before building a fire. The front opens, but we usually just use the right side access panel to add more logs and light it up. Plenty of firewood and kindling outside.
SEPTIC: This house uses a septic system. We try not to put any food down the sink drain. Don’t fret if a piece of mac and cheese goes down there. But probably best not to jam anything weird down there. As for toilets, well just waste & good old Scott toilet paper please.
TRASH & RECYCLE: Pickup is on Tuesday mornings. We have two cans at the top of the driveway. Please make sure the yellow bungee cords stay on the lids, it helps with bears digging in and going to town. Please take your trash and recyclables up to the cans when you leave.
